In this engineering role, Dell is seeking a candidate with the fortitude and aptitude to lead the development of multiple product architectures while helping to shape the future Workstation portfolio. - The ideal team member will have the acumen to handle both complex and ambiguous situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously - mixing long term projects with the urgency of immediate demands. - - - - - - - - Architect and influence future Workstation product design by providing technical -expertise and -engineering -leadership; strong focus on the -front-end design cycle
- - - - - - - - Interface with Marketing and -internal teams to -define product -requirements and -generate concepts -that meet our customer needs
- - - - - - - - Provide strong technical leadership in decisions when -collaborating across multiple lines of business, including industrial design, marketing, usability, -quality, and reliability
- - - - - - - - Incubate, create, optimize, and convey design concepts
- - - - - - - - Engage -and direct -design enablement -with external development partners (ODMs)
- - - - - - - - Collaborate with technology providers to identify and scope new technology innovation opportunities.
- - - - - - - - Assess concepts, -risks, and ensure readiness for implementation
- - - - - - - - Generate Intellectual Property to protect innovations

Key Requirements

- - - - - - - - BS -in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 15+ years of experience
- - - - - - - - Strong aptitude to assess and optimize products by making the proper feature tradeoffs between electrical, mechanical, power, thermal, firmware, and BIOS
- - - - - - - - Must have excellent working knowledge of engineering design principles for both electrical and mechanical designs
- - - - - - - - Strong aptitude for interpretation of technical data and the capability to explain tradeoffs to multiple levels of leadership
- - - - - - - - Must possess -strong -communication skills with a high degree of efficacy to navigate and relate -to multiple -audience levels
- - - - - - - - Ability to work independently and -thrive in a diverse, multi-functional team environment
- - - - - - - - Aptitude to assess and optimize program tradeoffs such as cost, performance, quality, and schedule

Desirable Requirements

- - - - - - - - Development manager or prior engineering leadership experience
- - - - - - - - Graduate degree is a plus
- - - - - - - - Prior -personal computer or server architecture -experience
- - - - - - - - Technical experience in OS integration
- - - - - - - - Prior experience managing and working with a global engineering team
